Google integrations

Each store can connect Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4, and some stores can also connect Google Merchant Center (see below). Open the store, click Store Settings, then the Integrations tab. Every "Connect Search Console" link in the dashboard opens that tab directly.

Both connections follow the same two steps:

  1. Consent. Clicking Connect opens a Google window. Pick the Google account that can see your store's data and allow access.
  2. Property. Clione lists the properties that account can see. If there is only one, it is selected for you. If there are several, pick the one for this store and click Save. Until a property is saved there is no data.

If the Google window is closed with Cancel, or Google reports an error, the card says so in red and nothing changes. Click Connect again to retry. If your browser blocks the window, allow pop-ups for the dashboard and retry.

If the Google account has no property at all, the card says so instead of showing an empty list. Add the property in Google (see below), or ask whoever owns it to give your Google account access, then click Check again.

Google Search Console

Search Console tells Clione how each of your product, category and page URLs performs in Google Search: impressions, clicks, click-through rate and average position over the last 28 days. Clione uses it to:

  • show search performance on each entity's detail page and on the store Overview;
  • anchor re-enrichment to the queries Google actually sends to each URL;
  • warn you when a URL ranks but is not clicked, and when a URL's ranking drops after a publish.

No property to pick? Your store's domain has to be added and verified in Google Search Console under the Google account you connect, or that account has to be given access to it.

Disconnect stops new data from being pulled and keeps what was already pulled. Disconnect and erase all data also deletes every Search Console metric Clione stored for the store. It asks twice and cannot be undone.

Google Analytics 4

GA4 tells Clione how many sessions, and how much revenue, AI assistants send to each product, category and page. A session counts as AI-referred when its source in GA4 is the domain of an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini or Copilot. Search engines are not on the list: organic search is measured by Search Console, and counting it here would count it twice. The ? next to the card title lists the domains that count.

When you save a property, Clione pulls the last 28 days straight away and then refreshes the data every week. Sync now pulls it immediately.

Additional AI referrers. If your analytics shows an assistant that is not on the built-in list, add its host (one per line, for example assistant.example) and click Save referrer list. It applies to this store from the next sync.

No property to pick? Create a GA4 property for your store in Google Analytics, or ask its owner to give the Google account you connect access to it.

Disconnect and Disconnect and erase all data work as for Search Console.

Google Merchant Center

Connecting Merchant Center lets Clione send your enriched product data straight to your Merchant Center account, instead of you adding the supplemental feed URL by hand (see Merchant Center feed). The connection comes first; sending the data is a later step and is not switched on yet.

Not every store sees this card yet. Google has to review Clione's access to Merchant Center before any store can use it. Until then the card only appears for the stores taking part in that review. If you do not see it, nothing is wrong with your store.

Consent. Clicking Connect Merchant Center opens a Google window that asks for access to your Merchant Center data. That access is asked for here and nowhere else: connecting Search Console or Google Analytics never asks for it. After consent the card shows the Merchant Center account it connected. If your Google account can see several, pick the one for this store and click Save.

Disconnect withdraws Clione's access at Google and deletes the saved credentials. Google keeps one grant per Google account, so if you connected Search Console or Google Analytics with the same Google account, connect them again afterwards.
