ChatGPT product feed

Plans: Starter ✗ · Growth ✓ · Pro ✓ · Agency ✓ (the same plans as the Merchant Center feed)

ChatGPT shows products from merchants that send OpenAI a product feed. OpenAI runs that programme per merchant, and each store is its own merchant: once a store is approved, OpenAI gives you an SFTP account for it (a host, a username and a password or a key). Clione builds that store's feed from its enriched catalogue and uploads it there every day. If you sell through ChatGPT from several stores, each one has its own account and its own setup.

What you do

  1. Get the store's SFTP details from OpenAI.
  2. In Clione, pick the store, open its Store Settings → Integrations → ChatGPT product feed and paste them: host, port, username, the password or the private key, and the folder OpenAI told you to use (if any).
  3. Optional but recommended: paste the server's host key fingerprint (SHA256:…). If you leave it empty, Test connection shows you the fingerprint the server presented, so you can check it with OpenAI and pin it.
  4. Click Save. Test connection uses the saved details.
  5. Press Test connection. Green means Clione could log in and list the folder.

From then on Clione uploads the store's feed once a day. The card shows when the last upload happened and whether it worked. Repeat these steps for every other store you sell through ChatGPT.

What Clione sends

  • Products only. The feed describes things a shopper can buy, so every row needs a price and an availability. Categories, collections and content pages are not in it.
  • One file per store, always with the same name, replaced on every upload — a full snapshot of the store's catalogue, never a partial one. Each store uploads only to its own SFTP account; a store with no account set up sends nothing.
  • Parquet by default, which is the format OpenAI prefers. You can switch to JSON Lines (gzip) on the same card.
  • A product that disappears from your catalogue is sent for 14 more days marked as not eligible for search, so ChatGPT stops showing it straight away; after that it is left out.
  • A product missing something the feed requires (a brand, a price, an image) is left out and counted in the upload summary; nothing is invented to fill it.

Your credentials

They are stored encrypted, belong to that one store only — another store of your organization cannot see or use them — and are never shown again after you save them: the card only says that a password or key is set. Remove deletes them for that store; its uploads stop the same day, and your other stores are not affected.
